Efforts to Combat the Illegal Distribution of Fitness Supplements (Study at the Surabaya City Food and Drug Monitoring Agency)

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors contributing to the high circulation of illegal fitness supplements and examine the countermeasures undertaken by the Surabaya City Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM). This study uses an empirical legal method with a statutory and conceptual approach. The findings indicate several factors influencing the rampant illegal circulation and the BPOM's obstacles in combating illegal circulation. Improved supervisory capacity, regulation, and stronger synergy between institutions are needed to effectively combat the circulation of illegal supplements.
